Seven Months of Scrapbooking

5 08 2011

052. Scrapbook six months [more info]

77 scrapbooking layouts

As it turns out, I’ve been busier than I thought this year when it comes to digital scrapbooking… and I’ve been having a ball. It all started last year when planning my P365, and this year it’s become my favourite hobby (running a close second to photography!).

I think I can consider this goal done… now onto 12 months. 😉

The Beginnings of a Scrapping Project

29 11 2010

055. Buy a digital scrapbooking kit instead of downloading a ‘freebie’ [more info]

I have a fairly big digital scrapbooking collection, with all of it being free kits and resources I have found online during the past year or so. I decided to treat myself this month to a paid kit (which was 40% off at the time), in preparation for an upcoming project – pregnancy scrapbook – I’m planning on starting after I finish teaching for the year.

Here’s what I got (all items from pickleberrypop.com)

I’ll post with a few of my layouts once I start on them (the borders and frames will be particularly useful for my project!)

Birthday Card

11 11 2010

059. Make five homemade birthday cards (1/5) [more info]

A card I made for my husband’s 29th birthday in Photoshop (using this image as a starting point), based on an in-joke that we share.

Printed on photo-paper and glued onto a silver card (I should have trimmed the photo down first for the size of the card, but oh well :P)

50 in 50mm Project Completed

2 09 2010

005. Complete the ‘50 in 50mm’ challenge [more info]

After six weeks of work and inspiration, the 50 in 50mm project is finally complete! The idea is to take 50 pictures over 50 days using a 50mm lens. I was able to take photos most days, but adcmittedly there were a few missed times along the way. Never mind, I just extended the project for a couple of extra days to make up for that time.

Here are two montages of images I took over the last 50 55 days:

059. Make five homemade birthday cards

23 01 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? Create and take pictures of five completed cards for a birthday card box.

Why did I choose this goal? Homemade cards are beautiful to receive and I hope to have a small supply on-hand of homecard cards to mail to others for their birthdays.

058. Make homemade Christmas cards

23 01 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have finished creating and mailed out Christmas cards to my family and friends.

Why did I choose this goal? I made Christmas cards in 2008 and enjoyed mailing them out to friends and family. Hopefully I can be motivated enough to do this again in the next two years.

057. Order any other completed photo book/project online

23 01 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have ordered and printed out a photobook of my choice, and have photographed its cover.

Why did I choose this goal? This goal may coincide with another scrapbooking/photography goal, and it is to give me the motivation to print out a completed project (instead of it lurking on the computer forever).

056. Make a photo book out of our New Zealand holiday pictures

23 01 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have a finished project of our New Zealand photos printed out and in my hands.

Why did I choose this goal? Another photo book project, this time pictures from our New Zealand honeymoon in January 2009. I haven’t printed out any pictures from our trip.

055. Buy a digital scrapbooking kit instead of downloading a ‘freebie’

23 01 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have downloaded and scrapbooked a page with a paid kit.

Why did I choose this goal? I am good at hunting down and downloading high-quality digital scrapbooking ‘freebies’ (free kits), but there are lots and lots of nice ones that aren’t free. I’d like to purchase one kit I’ve been eyeing up but passed by because it cost money. I’m a scrooge at times. 😛

054. Turn our wedding pictures into a photobook

23 01 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have a finished project of our wedding pictures printed out and in my hands.

Why did I choose this goal? My husband and I married on November 1st 2008 and, with the exception of our 20-page wedding album, I haven’t printed out the high-resolution pictures given to us by our photographer. I’d like to make a simple photobook and get it printed and bound.
