100. Prove to myself that I CAN be an early person

7 02 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? Show that I can be committed to being early or on-time regularly over the course of a year. I can do this, I know I can…

Why did I choose this goal? Oh boy… I saved the best until last. Time management is NOT my strength and I’m the friend that everyone expects to not show up to something on time. I hate having that label and would really like to change it. The question is, how can this be measured?

099. Submit all uncompleted tax returns

7 02 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have submitted my outstanding tax returns.

Why did I choose this goal? Another uninteresting, yet important goal. I was audited in October 2009 for not submitting a tax return in 200 and 2001 (I worked a fast-food job), and somehow I have to acquire the data to fill in the returns. These were due back in November and the Tax Office hasn’t been on my back about it so i suspect that they owe me some money… time to get into gear and claim it back!

098. Assemble something completely on my own

7 02 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have put something together by myself.

Why did I choose this goal? My husband sees himself as the handier of us (he has an engineering background), so I often miss out on getting to assemble things – new furniture, objects etc. My aim is to work on something to completion on my own. 🙂

097. Celebrate Christmas in a different way

7 02 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have celebrated Christmas in an alternate way and blogged about it.

Why did I choose this goal? Christmas within my family has been celebrated the same way for most of my adult life, mainly because all of the children are grown and the next generation is still unborn. I aim to celebrate in a different way, whether that incorporates involving a new/varied custom, location or family members.

096. Finish an entire book of crossword puzzles

7 02 2010

When will I achieved this goal? When I have finished as much as I can of all puzzles within a crossword book.

Why did I choose this goal? I’ve often come so close, but have either given up or lost interest. I challenge myself to finish all crossword puzzles in a book (completing all clues may be unacheiveable, so let’s say as much as I can from each puzzle).

095. Hold a newborn baby

7 02 2010

When will I achieved this goal? When I have held a baby who is under a month old.

Why did I choose this goal? There’s something wonderful (and dare I say it, miraculous) about the journey of a little one’s life from conception through to birth. I have a love of children, but have a slight fear of holding a newborn – I think it’s because they are so tiny. Can I rectify this? I hope so!

094. Sell five things on Ebay

7 02 2010

When will I achieved this goal? When I have successfully sold five items on Ebay.

Why did I choose this goal? Because there are some items in my apartment I’d like to see go to a good home, but don’t want to give away on Freecycle because of their value.

093. Leave a permanent mark somewhere within my housing estate

7 02 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have left a mark of my presence somewhere within my housing estate (anything inside the apartment doesn’t count).

Why did I choose this goal? I’ll be living in this housing estate for the next couple of years, and I’d like to leave my mark in some form or another. Ideas at the moment include planting a seed or plant, or a small etching under a bench seat.

092. Share a month’s worth of reflections on life’s little things

7 02 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have shared a month of daily blog posts about the little things in life that make it great.

Why did I choose this goal? When I’m feeling bogged down by the big things in life, it never hurts to reflect on what is good and positive (or little things that have impacted my day). I always feel better for it as a result.

091. Change all accounts to my married name

7 02 2010

When will I have achieved this goal? When I have changed all of my main accounts into my married name.

Why did I choose this goal? This isn’t the most interesting goal from a reading perspective, but one that I need to address at some point. Plain and simple, ditch my maiden name on accounts etc in favour of my married name (I pay most of the bills, whereas my husband handles the mortage). So far, I’ve only changed my Medicare card and driver’s license.
